War Aeternus 4 Rollout

Hey guys,

We should start rolling out War Aeternus 4 today in small segments.  I try to post around two-thousand words daily whenever we do this, but there are times where I’ll also increase or decrease that value based on where the stopping point is.  If you’re one of those people who likes to digest everything at once, we typically work at ‘around’ ten-thousand words per chapter, so check back at the end of the week.  If you’re just dying to get a first look at War Aeternus 4, check back daily, and we should have something for you.

Thanks so much to everyone who has sent us questions and comments on the last book.  We always love hearing your feedback whether it is good, bad, or indifferent. If something doesn’t work for you, if you hate a character, if you love a character, or if you want Valerie to die a horrible, gruesome death, never hesitate to let us know.

Remember: This is a quick-and-dirty version. Anything you find here may or may not make it into the final cut, and while it’s most-likely cannon, that doesn’t mean that all of it will make it into the final edit.  Josh and I have both been through this once, so there shouldn’t be any major, glaring errors, but it’s still very much a work in progress. If you catch anything, please feel free to let us know.  Charles is convinced that he pays us too much anyway, so you’re really just doing him a favor.

Without further ado, here’s the first half of the prologue to start of us off:

War Aeternus 4 – Prologue

10.23 Update: The Prologue is now posted in its entirety.  We rarely ever post the prologue or epilogue, and they are generally reserved for the published versions only, so once this disappears, it will likely never return. Enjoy.

War Aeternus 3 is Now Available!

Hey guys,

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that War Aeternus 3: The Culling is now available for purchase on Amazon and for reading on Kindle Unlimited!

This is one of the darkest works yet, and Lee struggles to stand his ground against an immoral enemy who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. His patience and cunning are pushed to the limits as he tries to devise a way to protect everything he knows and loves, and he risks everything by teaming up with old friends, old enemies, and by forging new alliances in order to survive. And then there’s Jade, who is by far the best character we’ve ever written. The very anthesis to Valerie. Finally!

The War Aeternus audiobook is now available!

I am very, very pleased to announce that War Aeternus is now available as an audiobook! We had the immense pleasure of working with the extremely talented Jeff Hays on this book, and I absolutely cannot sing his praises enough. Through and through, this guy is a professional and a real pleasure to work with.

Lee is a quiet and unassuming office worker who leads a life of solitude, comfort, and routine. Day in and day out, he shuts off his brain, keeps his head down, and goes about doing his job and minding his own business. That is, he does until a drunken god shows up randomly one day and whisks him off into another world, demanding that Lee serve as his pawn in a game between the gods. Now, trapped in a completely different world full of danger, magic, and creatures he’s never imagined outside of fairy tales and video games, Lee has to figure out how to stay alive long enough to make it back home.

Soundbooth Theater dives into another instant RPG Gamelit classic in War Aeturnus. With this piece of reverent comedy and philosophy about the role of belief in our modern times, Charles Dean has filled a void in the world of Gamelit by creating a Candide for the genre. Not only will Lee’s exploits with his psychotic sidekick, Miller, make listeners laugh and spit out their Mountain Dew, it may even convince them to get off the couch for a little while and explore the world outside of video games and fantasy.

War Aeternus is now available on Amazon!

I’m proud to announce that War Aeternus is now available on Amazon! This marks the seventh book to be released.  How cool is that?

You can find it here!

Unfortunately, it also means that I’ve had to restrict a large part of the content that’s available here due to Kindle Unlimited requirements.  But, I’ve left the final two chapters (minus the epilogue) online so people can catch up in case they missed them.

Big News All Around!

First, I’m very happy to announce that The Bathrobe Knight: Volume I has been adapted into an audiobook!  How cool is that? The first volume was narrated by Matthew Broadhead, and he brings rather interesting voices to the characters I’ve grown to love and want to kill (just you, Valerie.)  He has a great speaking voice, and we’re happy to add him to part of the TBK family.

The Bathrobe Knight: Volume 1 is now available on Audible.

In the second bit of news, I think we finally have everything set and ready to publish for the newest book War Aeternus.  This book has previously been listed under the working title War of Eternity, but due to naming conflicts that popped up at the last moment, we were forced to make the decision to change it.  This is about as close as we could come to the original without completely losing the naming schema and feeling of the title.  And we’re happy to have it!

While it’s not available for purchase quite yet, here’s a little preview of the cover art.  It’s different from what we’ve done in the past, but I think this has a great LitRPG feeling to it.

Cheers!

War of Eternity: The Beginning final four chapters

I’m happy to release the final four chapters of War of Eternity: The Beginning.

Chapter 10
Chapter 11
Chapter 12
Epilogue

We’ve spent a lot of time going back through past chapters as well. We’ve made additions and changes where necessary, and have taken a ton of suggestions into account as well.  Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to give us feedback on the book.  You guys are all awesome, and we definitely appreciate it.
